The Origins and First Steps

The "Gaya – World of Unity" project was launched in March 2019 with the acquisition of the land.

Since then, numerous advancements have been made, solidifying the foundations of this unique vision. Among the initial achievements are:

• The definition of the name “Gaya – World of Unity” and the logo in all its variations.
• The creation of a brand for oil production.
• The development of a dedicated digital space.
• The reclamation of the access land and the pruning of abandoned olive trees.
• The cleaning and redefinition of communication roads (approximately 6 km).
• The slight renovation and temporary arrangement of the building called “badia.”

Over time, the area has seen the emergence of new structures for hospitality and comfort:

• 4 stilted tents and 2 A-frame houses.
• A wooden module for shared bathrooms.
• The construction of 6 wooden huts.
• The installation of a tiny house and 3 caravans.

Growth and Evolution (2022-2024)

Since 2022, the project has made significant strides, expanding its vision and impact:

• 2022: A pre-existing building was renovated and transformed into an industrial communal kitchen, fostering moments of sharing and conviviality, while also providing the opportunity to host large events.
• In the same year, a cultural association was founded, representing the beating heart of the project.
• 2023: A warehouse was renovated and repurposed as a shop and processing workshop, promoting the enhancement of local raw materials.
• 2024: Creation of three trekking trails suitable for all, designed for immersing oneself in nature with complete safety and serenity.
• A geodesic dome was installed as a multipurpose hall for cultural and educational activities.

The goals for 2025/26 include:

• The complete renovation of the "badia."
• The creation of an educational nature park for children, a place designed to stimulate curiosity and learning through direct contact with the natural environment, planned for 2025/26.
• The construction of a natural theater.
• The planting of hundreds of trees of various species.

The Cultural Association: A Bridge Between Tradition and Innovation

Founded in 2022, the cultural association of Gaya is the vibrant heart of the project. Its goal is to create a space where culture, nature, and community converge to generate new opportunities for learning and sharing.

The association aims to collaborate with artists, scientists, and educators to promote and enhance both ancient wisdom and modern knowledge. Through events, workshops, and gatherings, it seeks to build a bridge between tradition and innovation, offering unique opportunities for personal and collective growth.

With initiatives ranging from art to science, sustainability to spirituality, the association is an open platform for anyone wishing to contribute their skills and passions to enrich the world of Gaya.

The Vision for the Future (2030/35)

Looking toward 2030/35, the project aims to achieve:

• A temple for prayer and meditation, open to all spiritual traditions.
• The planting of thousands of trees of various species.
• A phytoremediation pond.
• A Zen garden.
• The expansion of the ecovillage with new housing modules.

In the meantime, since 2021, artistic installations and micro-projects have been underway, managed by people who share a love for the place and a desire to contribute to its growth.
